The Fellowship in honor of Gianni Bonadonna, coming back for the 2026 edition, in the words of researchers who lived it

An exceptional experience, both professionally and personally: this is how Marianna Palazzo and Federica Pecci, two of the three winners of the 2024 edition of the “Fellowship Gianni Bonadonna”, describe in two video interviews the time they spent abroad thanks to the postdoctoral Fellowship program promoted by the Gianni Bonadonna Foundation, with the Prada Group as supporting partner and in collaboration with the European School of Oncology.

In her video interview Marianna Palazzo, who worked in Margaret A. Shipp’s laboratory at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston on a research project focused on characterizing the genetic and microenvironmental signatures of extranodal diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, feels very satisfied because, as she explains, «I was able to define the tumor’s molecular signature as well as the main factors that determine disease aggressiveness and extranodal relapses in the central nervous system».

Federica Pecci, who worked in Pasi A. Jänne’s laboratory at the Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to characterize the clinicopathological, genomic, and immunophenotypic factors associated with the efficacy of chemoimmunotherapy in resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), says in the video interview that «Our results are promising; we have identified some clinicopathological and genetic characteristics that help define the patients who responds best to different treatment strategies».
